It's been a busy March with the house full of visitors which has been lovely. Plus the added bonus of Guy's 6 month hospital check and Meg's school visits.
Two big visits in one day - Meg at school and Guy to see Dr Tom. Meg's school visit went very well and I have little doubt she will settle in without too many issues. I also have no doubt that finishing at 2pm for the first 3 weeks will be quite enough for her!
Guy had painted Dr Tom a lovely 'modern' painting to take to the appointment. He showed Dr Tom's painting to the receptionist, the nurse, the echo technician (ultrasound on his heart) until she distracted him with the Wiggles, the ECG technician, and the house surgeon. By this time he was walking the halls asking where Dr Tom was and saying "I think he's gone home for lunch, I think he's having sandwiches, I think he'll be back soon..." I think most of Starship knew Guy had a painting for Dr Tom!
So, the news. Guy's heart has made another small improvement, though still remains a bit 'below normal'. It is the first time they haven't increased his medication, despite the fact he has grown. This is a good sign. There is a possibility that they will let him 'out grow' his medication if his heart is strong enough. *yah* However "competitive contact sport" is unlikely to be on the cards in the future... that's probably ok!
Dr Tom got his picture and made all the right noises, which delighted Guy.
Sarma was also at the appointment which is always handy - medical brain and all that.
Happy Easter all. We'll be celebrating Meg's 5th birthday and continued good hearty health.

Go that boy... sounds like fantastic news. Looking at Zac (now a tottering 14 month old), being the younger brother to a bossy 3 year old girl is pretty much a 'competitive contact sport', so Guy has probably had all the 'competitive contact sport' he'll ever need.
ReplyDelete(now Zara is running around the house yelling "Oh no! Somebody has died!" with a big grin so perhaps I should go see what is going on).
